“As a blue-collar kid who was the first in his family to go to college, I know from personal experience the importance of a high-quality education for our nation’s youth. I also know from having worked my way through college that an education is a privilege, not a right, and that we must continue to instill the values of hard work into the next generation.
“During my time in Congress, I’ve supported legislation to serve our students and improve our education system. My VETS Credit Act, which previously passed the House of Representatives, helps student veterans by ensuring they are able to quickly and easily transfer their course credits to another institution should their school close or program end suddenly. I’ve also introduced bills to expand nutritional education for medical students and encourage private schools to enroll more American students.
“I am committed to ensuring our students have access to quality education and opportunities to succeed. It is essential for our nation’s future that we set our students up for success.”
