“With nearly 200,000 seniors in my district and tens of thousands of my constituents enrolled in Medicare or Medicaid, I understand the importance of fixing our broken health care system so that every American has access to quality, affordable care.

“As Chairman of the Health Subcommittee on the House Ways and Means Committee, I have fought to pass policies that protect the most vulnerable, empower individuals and families with control over their health care choices and personalize health care to meet individual needs. I’ve been on the forefront of policy discussions to extend flexible health care options for all Americans, such as with my Permanent Telehealth from Home Act, and I will always advocate patient-centered reforms that get the federal government out of your doctor’s office.

“As Co-Chairman of the bipartisan Congressional Preventive Health and Wellness Caucus, I’ve sought to bring attention to the rising chronic disease crisis in our country. With six in 10 Americans living with at least one chronic disease, it is clear that we must expand options for people to manage their chronic health conditions. I’ve introduced legislation, such as my Chronic Disease Flexible Coverage Act, which passed the House with unanimous bipartisan support in 2025, to give patients more flexibility to manage their chronic diseases while reducing high out-of-pocket costs. I am committed to protecting Floridians and raising awareness about how public health issues impact lives and communities.

“In 2026, I was proud to see two of my key health care priorities signed into law, marking a major step forward in expanding access to care and modernizing our system. My Hospital Inpatient Services Modernization Act extended the successful Hospital-at-Home program, allowing more patients to safely receive acute care in the comfort of their own homes. Additionally, my Permanent Telehealth from Home Act removed outdated geographic restrictions under Medicare, ensuring seniors and families can access care no matter where they live. These bipartisan achievements reflect my continued commitment to delivering innovative, patient-centered solutions that improve outcomes, reduce costs and meet Americans where they are.”
