“Creating jobs and revitalizing the U.S. economy is my highest priority, and encouraging growth in the private sector is vital to achieving this goal. Too often, Washington enacts policies that increase regulation, raise taxes and place heavy burdens that hold American job creators back. As a businessman for over 30 years, I know what it’s like to create jobs, balance a budget and make payroll.

“As the Vice Chairman of the powerful House Ways and Means Committee, I will continue to work to restructure our tax system to make it simpler, flatter and fairer. We need a tax code that spurs economic growth, creates jobs and puts money back in the pockets of hardworking taxpayers. I was proud to help lead the House’s efforts to pass the Working Families Tax Cuts in 2025 to lower taxes for hardworking families, seniors and small businesses. This tax package also included four of my own bills to address issues of importance to Florida. I fought to eliminate federal income taxes on tips for Florida’s tens of thousands of hospitality and tourism workers. I also worked to restore the mortgage insurance premium deduction and fix unfair condominium accounting rules to provide tax relief for middle-class families struggling while housing prices skyrocket in Florida. Finally, I achieved permanency for key provisions of the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act to make permanent tax cuts for individuals and small businesses across our state.

“I will always fight for commonsense, pro-growth, pro-family, America First bills that create jobs and grow our economy.”
