Takes Place Saturday, May 17, in Bradenton
BRADENTON, Fla. — Congressman Vern Buchanan will host a Service Academy Fair for all high school students in Florida’s 16th Congressional District at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 17th, at Goodwill Manasota Corporate Office, 2705 51st Ave E, Bradenton, FL 34203.
“Having served in the Air National Guard, it’s my honor and privilege every year to appoint outstanding young men and women from our area to the U.S. service academies,” said Buchanan. “I encourage all students who are interested in attending a service academy to attend the Service Academy Fair and learn more about the nomination process and student life at these elite institutions.”
Representatives from the U.S. Military Academy, U.S. Naval Academy, U.S. Air Force Academy, U.S. Merchant Marine Academy and the U.S. Coast Guard Academy will share information about academy life and application requirements. A representative from Congressman Buchanan’s office will be available to answer questions about the nomination process, an essential part of receiving an appointment to the academies.
In 2024, 11 local students nominated by Buchanan received an appointment to a U.S. service academy.
