“The Average Family in my District Would Have Faced a $1,700 Tax Hike”
WASHINGTON — Today, Congressman Vern Buchanan, Vice Chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee, penned an op-ed in The Hill highlighting how the “One Big, Beautiful Bill” delivers on the Republican agenda to cut taxes, strengthen the economy and put Americans first.
“Seventy-seven million Americans voted for President Donald Trump and a Republican majority to cut taxes, secure our border, restore our economy and put working families first,” writes Buchanan in the op-ed. “With the signing of the ‘One Big, Beautiful Bill,’ we are delivering on those promises, marking the beginning of the Golden Age of America.”
Buchanan played a leading role in crafting the historic tax and budget package that makes the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act permanent. The “One Big, Beautiful Bill” eliminates federal income taxes on tips and overtime pay, provides $75 billion in targeted relief for seniors, supports small businesses by making the small business deduction permanent and lowers tax rates for working families.
Buchanan serves as Vice Chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee. Recently, he led a letter with 11 Florida Republicans urging swift passage of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act to deliver tax relief to Floridians and strengthen Florida’s economy.
