Creating jobs and revitalizing the U.S. economy is my highest priority. Encouraging growth in the private sector is vital to achieving this goal. Too often Washington enacts policies that increase regulation, raise taxes and place heavy burdens that hold American job creators back. As a businessman for over 30 years, I know what it’s like to create jobs, balance a budget, and meet a payroll. I have introduced a jobs plan in Congress to help restore the economy and get America working again. As a member of the powerful House Ways and Means Committee, I will continue to work to restructure our tax system to make it simpler, flatter and fairer. We need a tax code that spurs economic growth, creates jobs and puts money back in the pockets of hardworking taxpayers.
