Creates Shutdown Resource Hub at Buchanan.House.Gov/Shutdown

WASHINGTON — Today, Congressman Vern Buchanan, Vice Chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee, released the following statement amidst the ongoing Democrat-led government shutdown:

“The House did our job two weeks ago to keep the government open for the taxpayers we serve. I’m disappointed that Senate Democrats have chosen to needlessly shut it down over unrelated partisan demands. While we await more information on agency closures, there will likely be consequences for our servicemembers, federal employees and their families, as well as Floridians who rely on the National Flood Insurance Program.

“In the meantime, my office remains open, taking phone calls and assisting constituents with casework. While many federal agencies may face slower response times and limited staffing, we will continue to advocate on your behalf.”
