LONGBOAT KEY, Fla. — This week, Congressman Vern Buchanan was named one of “The 25 Most Powerful People in Sarasota” in the April 2025 issue of Sarasota Magazine. In his tenth term representing the greater Sarasota area in Congress, Buchanan serves as Vice Chairman of the powerful House Ways and Means Committee and as Co-Chairman of the bipartisan 30-member Florida congressional delegation.
“Zig Ziglar famously said, ‘You can have everything in life you want if you will just help enough other people get what they want,’” shared Buchanan. “Power to me is the ability to use one’s influence and position to lift others up and help them be successful. I’ve adopted this approach throughout my many years in business prior to coming to Congress, as well as in my current role. It’s nice to be called ‘Congressman,’ but at the end of the day, I’m a representative.”
