Buchanan Receives Guardian of Small Business Award
Votes to Create Jobs & Grow Economy
WASHINGTON – U.S. Rep. Vern Buchanan received the Guardian of Small Business Award yesterday from the National Federation of Small Business (NFIB), the nation’s leading small business association, for his leadership on helping small businesses grow and create jobs.
“Small businesses create most of the jobs in this country,” said Buchanan. "We need to cut bureaucratic red tape to give businesses the flexibility they need to expand and create jobs."
The Guardian of Small Business Award is the most prestigious honor that NFIB bestows on members of Congress in recognition of their efforts to support small business issues.
Buchanan, a 30-year businessman before being elected to Congress, said he was honored to receive the award and would keep fighting for small businesses.
Buchanan has earned a 100 percent voting record in the 115th Congress (2017-18) in support of legislation and policies that reduce unnecessary regulations and cut taxes on small businesses. He also supported the historic Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, which reduced taxes on small businesses and middle-income taxpayers across America.
“U.S. Rep. Vern Buchanan has truly been a champion for Florida small businesses. We are proud to award him with the prestigious NFIB Guardian of Small Business Award, which is earned by those who vote with small businesses in mind,” said NFIB President and CEO Juanita D. Duggan. “Rep. Buchanan understands the challenges.”
