Buchanan Committed to Preserving Disability Benefits
WASHINGTON – U.S. Rep. Vern Buchanan (R-FL), a senior member of the House Ways and Means Committee, said Congress needs to take action to preserve disability benefits for millions of Americans.
Buchanan is a member of the Social Security Subcommittee, which held a hearing today on the impending insolvency of the Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI):
“I am committed to ensuring the financial stability of the Social Security Disability Insurance trust fund,” Buchanan. “For nearly 20,000 of my constituents in Southwest Florida, SSDI is an essential lifeline that helps pay for food and housing. I commend Chairman Johnson for holding this important hearing and for his leadership on this issue.”
